Steps to Apply for an International Driver’s License

To drive abroad, you need to obtain an international driver’s license. Here are the steps and requirements to apply for one:

1. Latest Self-Photo
  • Conditions: The photo must show 2 shirt buttons, have a white background, and the color of the shirt or hijab must not be white. No glasses, face facing the camera, no contact lenses, not a black and white photo, and no visible teeth.
2. ID Card
  • Requirements: A valid ID card.
3. KITAP
  • For Foreigners: If you are a foreigner residing in Indonesia, you need a KITAP.
4. Passport
  • Validity: A valid passport is necessary.
5. Driver’s License
  • Class: A valid driver’s license according to the international driver’s license class you are applying for.
6. Signature
  • Format: Signature on white paper written using black ink.
7. Current International Driver’s License
  • For Extensions: If you are extending your existing international driver’s license, ensure you have the current one.
